What Kind of a Game is The Reunion?
It is pure Science Fiction. At the start you will be cloned as a pilot
and automatically join the guild Freelancer. A guild is a group of players
who help each other in the game. As a new pilot your starting cash is very little.
You will receive the first plans but you will have to earn the other plans for
different ship classes.
Your immediate goal is to trade. After buying a carrier from your shipyard
you will buy goods from a planet store and sell for a profit at another planet.
You have to remember that the prices change every hour at a specific time.
You will soon be able to acquire and equip a better ship to build the
experience needed in order to proceed to the next ships and plans.
Here starts your first step into the universe. You will meet other pilots,
with whom you can communicate, or fight against in some circumstances.
Beware, as in the universe you will also meet A.I. (Artificial Intelligence,
also known as bots) and some of them are not friendly towards you.
Moving in the universe is by hyper jumps, jumping from one place to another
(these places are also called nodes). The Reunion is not an action game,
strategy and communication is important.
When you have traded enough and got a better ship, you will have to equip
it with a scanner for following and finding the location of AI. and other
players. When you can travel to other zones to find other ship plans you
will also find different A.I. and new ways to make money.
The goal of the game is to make the guild you are in stronger and, when
possible, get yourself on one of the many high score lists. Enjoying the
game will come mainly by the many options to chat and ways to make
friends.
Many times we have heard about players who didn’t leave their PC for 7
days, only taking short breaks to take care of the very basic human
needs, just not to miss one moment in the game.
The system requirements for The Reunion are a PC with a minimum of 256 MB RAM,
internet access, operating system Win 2000 or XP, Internet Explorer 6.0 and
Media Player 9.0. Internet access is absolutely necessary because the game
is ONLY played online.
Leaving the best for last, The Reunion will be completely free to play.
There are no plans to make the game pay to play in the future. Voluntary
contributions towards the upkeep of the server are always greatly appreciated,
though they are not a requirement to play The Reunion.
